James Edwards is a 21 year old Tech House & House DJ from Pontypridd, South Wales.

Since James started DJ’ing House music in late 2010, he has already managed to earn residencies with some of South Wales’ most promising new club nights. James is a resident and promoter for Reaction Events, Runway Events and Down & Out Records.

James grew up listening to hip-hop, and in his early teenage years, he purchased his first pair of turntables. His passion for music meant that spent a lot of his time behind the turntables, experimenting with different styles, and learning new tricks. James enjoyed making live bootlegs using instrumentals and acapellas, and also spent a lot of his time experimenting on computer programs such as ‘Virtual Dj’. Unfortunately, due to the high price of vinyl records, and the change in music technology, James found it hard to keep his vinyl collection fresh and up to date, and eventually, his turntables started gathering dust until he stopped using them completely.

During his late teenage years when James started going out to nightclubs was when he started listening to House Music. James also spent a lot of his time with his friend Alex that had been DJ’ing House Music for several years. His love for House Music grew rapidly, and before long he started travelling the country to watch his favourite DJ’s play, and House Music was all he listened to.

Since purchasing a set of CDJ’s at the end of 2010, James has rapidly developed his skills as a DJ and as a promoter and has managed to play a number of gigs in a very short amount of time. James is able to play many different genres of House Music, and also has the ability to determine the perfect tracks to drop to suit the atmosphere of the club, and his growing confidence behind the decks as well as his seamless mixing and great use of effects always results in a satisfied crowd. James hopes to move into music production as well as continue his love for DJ’ing, and so with the right support from his fans as well as his drive to become the best, his future in the industry looks to be very promising!
